Hello there! My name is Brittany Furbee and I am a competitive chef turned recipe developer and food writer from Morgantown, West Virginia.
I leapt into the national food scene in 2017, when I was selected to compete on the Food Network show Cooks vs. Cons. Despite having no professional experience, I beat two experienced chefs to win the show and a $10,000 grand prize. The experience set into motion a very exciting year for me that included winning a national recipe contest and competing in the world’s largest food sport event, the World Food Championships.
I went from cooking meals at home for friends and family to traveling the country representing home chefs everywhere at various cooking competitions, serving as a celebrity judge at tasting events, hosting cooking demonstrations and working as a brand ambassador. It’s been a very fun (and tasty!) ride so far, to say the least.
Nowadays, I use the skills I learned and connections I made through competitive cooking to run a freelance business that offers recipe development, photography, and digital content creation. My digital portfolio of content I produced for a variety of clients including national food brands, grocery stores, non-profit organizations, athletic conferences, media publications and more can be found here!
Producing enticing foodie content is my passion. If you’d like to work with me on a future project, please email info@brittanyfurbee.com.
