I recently had the pleasure of judging the 6th annual Best Chef Cook Off, on Thursday, August 2, at Lakeview Resort in Morgantown. The event brought together six amazing local chefs to compete for the title of Morgantown’s “Best Chef” and best dish representing “Modern Cuisine”. Proceeds from the event benefited the Morgantown History Museum.
I never knew that I could like anything more than cooking, but judging cooking competitions is definitely high on my list of favorite things.
Awards and Participating Restaurants
Table 9 took home the title of Best Chef for their rendition of General Tso Pork Belly.
Lakeview Resort won first place in the specialty category, Modern Cuisine, for their creative margarita spheres and Cuban tacos.
The restaurants receiving honorable mentions were:
The Lake House
Hill and Hollow
Morgantown Flour and Feed
And last but not least, my personal favorite, Bourbon Prime. I was absolutely blown away by the creativity of their biscuits and gravy dessert!
